AMP (Active Meditation Practice)
The first thing people say to us when I tell them I teach meditation is, "Oh, I can't do that. I can't quiet my mind!" followed closely by, "And besides, I don't have time."
To which I say, "Great. Then you're going to love this!"
It's not necessarily practical, or entirely reasonable, to equate meditating with quieting the mind - especially in the beginning of your practice. Think about training for a marathon: you don't decide to run one, and then go out for a 26.2-mile training run. You begin with a shorter run, or even a walk. You begin your training wherever you are.
Meditation is the same way.
Active meditation doesn't ask you to stop what you're doing so you can meditate. The AMP techniques fit in with all the things you're doing every day.
