This post originally appeared on February 22, 2016. With the change of seasons, it feels like another milestone, another opportunity to have a "new year."
Ever notice how when you commit to something, things instantly change? It doesn't matter what it is. You commit, you dedicate, you book it, and bam -- all of a sudden the things you thought impossible, appear or start to unfold.
So what's our resistance to commitment, especially when we know that changing our mindset changes how things unfold?
It's scary. It's overwhelming. It's daunting. It's hard. It's lonely. It's effort-full.
The rewards far outweigh those arguments. When we decide, embrace a change, move forward with action steps toward a goal, we get energized. That commitment sparks growth, possibilities, and momentum.
For every action, there is an equal and opposite reaction.
I am ready to commit, have felt that way for a while. I have noticed as this new year gets rolling the desire to re-commit. My commitment: living authentically in my truth, going deeper into my truth and my passion, and daring more profoundly to speak out.
Our world is poised for change -- we are seeing it all over the place, not only in the political arena. Things are heating up and the time to commit is now, the time to go 'all in' is now, the time for engaging is now.
Get committed. Choose to dedicate yourself. Change your world and change the world.
As we do.
