Daring Spirits: Tell us about a decision that felt really bold.
Heidi: I felt really bold when I started my first sole proprietor company, Wild Velvet Design. For a painfully shy introvert that felt very liberating and scary. I quickly realized that my heart wasn’t in the design business and that I was being pulled into the holistic wellness field, but that first act of boldness propelled me to where I am now.
Daring Spirits: Describe a time when things went "wrong" and then the Universe delivered.
Heidi: After my second child was born, I fell into an acute case of postpartum depression. It was a long, arduous path back to wellness with lots of ups and downs. That experience was my impetus to learning more about holistic methods of obtaining health and happiness. It also gave me more understanding and empathy for people struggling with mental, emotional, and physical illness. I can now recognize when someone's spirit is in distress, contributing to their illness, and can help them through it.
Daring Spirits: What’s one thing you really want people to know?
Heidi: Don’t let other people’s experiences dictate your own. Miracles happen everyday.
Daring Spirits: Beach or Mountains? Sweet or spicy? Window or aisle?
Heidi: I have to pick? I believe in getting everything I want in life and I am willing to do the work to get it! My family and I recently moved to Central Montana because we love the landscape and people. We are also actively shopping for a condo in Puerto Rico and hope to eventually split our time between the two places. I believe in making my own rules and changing them when I see fit.
Daring Spirits: We love that you changed the rules of our last question! Thank you, Heidi, for your insights.
